Übergabe der Firma mit Handshake von Peter Kiesling an Niklas Kiesling

50 years of Kiesling refrigerated vehicles

Kiesling Fahrzeugbau GmbH, a specialist supplier of refrigerated bodies for trucks, has two reasons to celebrate this year:

The company was founded in 1973 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary. 50 years after its founding by Herwig Kiesling Sr., the grandson of the company founder is taking over the management of the family business.

Niklas Kiesling will continue to lead the company into the digital, electrified and sustainable future.

"Others talk - we deliver" was the slogan with which Kiesling started selling refrigerated vehicles in 1973. At that time, ready-made refrigerated vehicles were available on demand and offered fast transport solutions. Customers appreciated this service. Kiesling always offered the right solution for the increasing demand for refrigerated vehicles for a wide range of industries. In addition to their quick availability, Kiesling refrigerated vehicles were also known from the start for their good stability and high quality.

Peter Kiesling has been managing the company since 1990. During this time, all areas were expanded, the production hall was added and production was gradually expanded.

Currently, structures “made in Germany” are produced in two foam plants covering more than 10,000 m².

Kiesling has enjoyed success with innovative products, such as the Cool Slide® partition wall. The system minimizes cold losses and ensures high savings in fuel consumption. The system has become established as standard in many refrigerated vehicle fleets.

In further product developments, the environmental aspect was always taken into account and durable and robust materials were used.

The FIP bodies produced by Kiesling can also be recycled at the end of their long service life. They are the first recyclable refrigerated bodies that can demonstrate a TÜV-certified recycling rate.

Kiesling Kühlfahrzeuge has been continuously and sustainably developed. The company invested in photovoltaic systems as early as 2010 and has been producing more electricity than it consumes in total for several years. In 2020, production was climate-neutral for the first time (according to Scope 1 and 2).

The level of self-sufficiency for the production company is currently being further expanded, for example through the construction of electricity storage facilities.

With Niklas Kiesling, the next generation is now taking on responsibility and ensuring continuity in the continued running of the family business. Customers, employees and partners can therefore continue to rely on a reliable and innovative partner.

Digital transformation, the sustainability of production and products, and further optimization of processes are at the top of the agenda. This will ensure that customers are supplied with refrigerated vehicles “made in Germany” in the long term and that the jobs of around 120 employees are secured.
